Sourcing Manager-- Chengdu
Job Description
This position is located in Chengdu,China. Leads the sourcing activities for company's in the Chengdu office of the China Sourcing group. Promotes adherence/compliance to company's sourcing policies and encourages exceptional performance from the China supply base in terms of quality, delivery and cost.
-Provides leadership, guidance and training to the China – Chengdu Sourcing staff
-Identifies potential new suppliers of forgings, castings, machining and complete valve assemblies
-Tracks and reports the progress of sample development projects with Chinese suppliers
-Develops and distributes “requests for quotation” as directed by the purchasing teams at the V&M assembly operations
-Provides cost analysis of supplier quotations as compared to existing or target prices
-Participates in pricing negotiations and the development of supply agreements in conjunction with the purchasing teams at the V&M assembly operations
-As required will support expediting efforts concerning production orders with Chinese suppliers
Qualification
1) Excellent communication skills are required and strong command of English language both spoken and written.
2) Strong knowledge of valve design and assembly is important as well as a good understanding of casting and forging processes
3) Strong network of supplier contacts within China and good working knowledge of supplier capabilities to manufacture components for the valve industry
4) The position and Cameron culture demands a candidate with exceptional character and integrity
5) 10-15 years of sourcing experience in the valve industry would be ideal with a proven track record of cost reduction and project management skills
